Sales Director – Asset Management – UK

Our client is a major Japanese asset management company. They are looking to recruit a sales director to develop the UK institutional market.

The segments in focus will be primarily fund buyers, discretionary wealth managers, private banks, family offices, public institutions, pension funds, endowments, investment consultants.

The tasks will include the identification of relevant target markets and key commercial priorities in order to:
1) Acquire new business relationships
2) Grow assets under management and
3) Establish a commercial best practice in the region


Professional qualifications
Candidates will bring a proven track record of developing relationships with investors and executed sales target in the market in target.

They will be goal-driven in their approach and thrive in a team-based and collegiate environment while evidencing self – motivation and the ability to work autonomously. More specific qualifications include:

  • An experienced business development professional with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience.
  • An established track record of growing assets under management as a consequence of a highly professional and investment-led approach to new business development and cross-selling.
  • Ability to prove strong commercial acumen and operate autonomously with entrepreneurial flair combined with a disciplined and organised approach.
  • Evidence of a deep market knowledge as well as specific business and industry dynamics and regulatory issues.
  • Passionate about understanding client issues and the process of working with clients to find an appropriate solution.
  • Native/Fluent in English.
  • Finance or business related academic qualification.
