Ivor is a UK national and graduate in modern languages (French and Russian) from Oxford University. After university he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Touche Ross in the City before joining a leading international recruitment company in 1985. He was co-founder of their French office and left in 1989 to set up his own firm in Paris.

He subsequently sold this company to Robert Half International and stayed on as French CEO and minority shareholder until 1997. When he left the company was one of the largest and best-known recruitment companies in France with specialisations in finance, banking, law and IT.
On moving to Monaco in 1998, Ivor set up his current structure Norman Alex with a view to offering a boutique recruitment service to local banks and corporations. Whilst maintaining his strong commitment to a personalised service and a human dimension, Ivor has grown the business to become an international leader in financial services recruitment and is now expanding into other areas. He moved to Miami in 2015 to develop the US office before returning to Europe.

The world is evolving rapidly but Ivor remains convinced that change brings opportunity as well as risk. He is committed to developing long-term relationships based on true values and mutual trust because he realises that the principal differentiating factor in a service company is the quality of its people.

In his spare time, Ivor enjoys relaxing with his wife and young children, drinking the occasional glass of Burgundy and watching his favourite football club, Manchester City. He also likes to travel for both business and pleasure to test his peculiar English sense of humour on indigenous populations. For the time being he has yet to discover anyone who understands his humour but, tenacious and persistent as he is, has not given up trying.
